• OUR PRIDE
Our results in the All India Secondary School Examination for the academic year 2008-’09 was commendable. Out of the 79 students who appeared for the examination, 42 passed with distinction while 24 came through with First Class.
Ms. Sandra Susan Thomas was the school topper. She was awarded a trophy and a certificate of merit by the Malabar Sahodaya School Complex in a grand function held at Hotel Hyson Heritage on 20th June 2009 for her stupendous achievement in the AISSE.
The school was also felicitated for its 100 percent pass in the AISSE which it had been securing for the past 14 years.
• REOPENING DAY
Every beginning brings with it hope and joy, the beginning of this scholastic year was no different. The school reopened on 1st June welcoming the tiny tots into the main stream of education to conquer new heights. The school was richly decorated with various coloured papers. The distribution of sweets melted away the anxiety of the newcomers.
• INVESTITURE
The student leaders for the academic year 2009-’10 assumed office at a solemn investiture held on 16th July 2009.
The prominent office bearers who took oath were Ms. Anusha Abdul Khader (X C) as Head Prefect and Master Sumais Jalaludeen (IX A) as Deputy Head Prefect.
The captains and vice-captains of various houses were elected on the same day.
The Principal called upon the new leaders to be role models for the student community.
• CELEBRATIONS GALORE
The 63rd Independence Day was celebrated with much enthusiasm. The students revealed their patriotic fervour and immense love for the motherland through a variety of programmes. The Director of Administration Mr. Aboobacker Haji unfurled the national flag.
The feeling of patriotism was all-pervasive as the school celebrated the 61st Republic Day with pomp and glory. The Principal Mr. M.T. Muhammad Ali hoisted the flag and in his enlightening speech asked the students to be proud of the spectacular progress and development India has made in the realm of economy, science and technology. He urged the students to be the responsible citizens of tomorrow and strive to achieve the vision of our former President Mr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
• UNFURLING THE TALENTS
The 8th and 9th of October witnessed the hope and joy, the pride and honour of the Hilltopians who were in a festive mood, celebrating the festival of the youth that turned out a showcase of all the talents in sync with buoyancy. The event began with the formal inauguration by the Principal. The offstage items started a week prior to the date so as to wind up with the on stage items. The students performed the events on two different stages after a great deal of practice, planning and coordination. The festival culminated in a fancy dress competition which was open to students of all categories from I to X. The yellow house emerged winners of the competition while the Blue house finished second.
• AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
A felicitation ceremony was organised at S.K. Pottakkadu Hall on 2nd January 2010 to honour the winners of AISSE 2009. Mr. Aboobacker Haji presided over the function. The occasion was made all the more notable with the esteemed presence of the Commissioner of Police S. Sreejith IPS. Mr. R.N.Sabu, Former President, Mavoor Gwalior Rayons, delivered the key note speech.
